Mitchinson house Woollahra

Woollahra is a sophisticated, heritage area within the eastern suburbs of Sydney. Surrounded by nature, shops and schools it is a place to raise a family, with a short commute to the city.

Mitchinson House is an existing terrace building with rich architectural history, this is retained through traditional Victorian construction features, including stone and brickwork.

The brief requests full documentation set for the proposed floor plans, sections and elevations of the site. The homeowners desire an open planned living environment to raise their family, with a modern materially and a soft colour palette.

Concept Development

Abundant with natural light a sophisticated residence in Woollahra comprises of Victorian heritage, and the elegance of minimal, modern finishes. Mitchinson house will transform into a welcoming and open family home that invites people to unwind. The soft palette and natural tones were employed using natural finishes such as Lagano stone flooring, Snow Marble benchtops, and light Samurai Wool carpet.

The flow between the living area and kitchen was maintained by open planned living, this offered ample space for the clients to live comfortably.

The generosity of natural light was an important aspect of the design. Sliding doors and windows at the rear of the kitchen allowed a swirl of natural light to enter the space.
